Update
I finally got through, after another 40 minutes on hold, being hung up on, and another 5 minutes of waiting. Then the nice Indian man told me he couldn't help me b/c the department I need is only open from 8-8 UK time and I could call back tomorrow. Great. Classes start Monday but it's not looking like I'll be making that deadline....

Anymore updates? I hope you get there soon! If not, maybe you should come to sunny CA for the semester and just tell everyone you're in Germany :D
